The soft, yet durable, seal screws down tight, conforming to the surface of your roof to keep the elements out. Roof seals are easily removed when reinstalling the Slimline II Rack. If you wish to add additional slats to a Slimline II Roof Rack that is 8 slats or more long, (ie. to create a solid platform for sitting, photography, etc.), these brackets are needed for those additional slats that are to be positioned next to a joiner.
These brackets can also be used to position a Front Runner Single Jerry Can holder between slats, parallel to the slats.
For additional information, see the Installation Instructions in the INSTALLATION TAB to determine if you need this product when adding additional slats to your Slimline II roof rack.
**If building a solid platform on your Slimline II and you need these brackets, note that the slats used in conjunction with the bracket will need to be ONE SIZE SMALLER than the slats used in your rack.
