Furthermore, the input and output terminals are placed in a unified vertical direction with convenient wiring to assist with your super clean install.
Input Connections
Equipped with high-level inputs (x8) and RCA low level inputs (x4) the PXE-X800 can be configured to match the output of either an OEM system or aftermarket head unit. Plus, the optical and coaxial inputs allow for digital connection of a head unit or other digital sources.
Output Connections
The 8 Hi-Level amplified outputs can power an entire sound system. Or, the 12 RCA outputs cater for virtually any system configuration to add external amplifiers for greater power output to build an active system setup of 3-way front and 2-Way rear speakers and multiple subwoofers.
RUX-C810 Controller
The RUX-C810 controller (sold separately) is compatible with the PXE-X800 12 Channel Digital Audio Processor enabling main source and EQ preset selection, input selection and subwoofer volume adjustment. The controller is very compact and can be easily installed anywhere in the dash-board or centre console. It features a rotary encoder and black/white LCD display.

The HDP-D90 DSP Amplifier has a 192kHz/32Bit internal sampling rate and an ultra-wide audio bandwidth of 10Hz-110kHz to reproduce sound at its intended high-resolution spec. Intentional designs, like a copper-plated chassis, bring the signal-to-noise ratio up to >110dB and minimise noise and distortion during playback. Drawing inspiration from the internal Master Clock Management System in the AlpineF#1Status DSP, the HDP-D90 contains a Crystal Oscillator Clock Generator at the core of the unit that tracks and aligns digital information to eliminate jitter (timing errors) and accurately reproduce sound.
The DSP has multiple input options for flexible system building. For vehicles that are unable to replace the factory Head Unit, the DSP has 12-channels of high-level inputs that allow the factory Head Unit to be retained. The DSP amp also has an optical input to add the Alpine Status HDS-990 Media Player or analog inputs for another aftermarket Head Unit. The HDP-D90 (when used in stand-alone mode) can also receive music sent directly from a smartphone with Bluetooth wireless streaming.

With the FPX 5.1200, installation of this hi-fi system is much easier as there's only one amplifier and one power supply to fit into the vehicle.
In order to control this 5-channel installation (with front and rear speaker drivers, and a subwoofer), the FPX 5.1200 features a wide range of settings. The input selector (2/4/6 channels) duplicates channels, meaning there will always be 5 output channels, even if the head unit only has one or two stereo outputs.
For the main speaker drivers, each pair of channels has an adjustable active crossover. To perfectly tune the subwoofer to the rest of the installation, the bass channel has a low-pass active crossover, a bass equaliser, phase adjustment and a subsonic filter (particularly useful for cutting off frequencies which are too low for a small subwoofer).
The remote control enables you to adjust the bass level from the driving seat depending on the type of music you’re listening to. Stable at 4 and 2 Ohms, this new FPX amplifier will drive most speaker drivers on the market with just the right amount of power: 4 x 75 Watts + 1 x 420 Watts RMS at 4 Ohms (CEA standard). Extensive research for unprecedented power in a compact enclosure
Delivering very high power from such a compact enclosure is a true challenge. The more heat an amplifier produces, the higher the risk of distortion affecting the system’s musicality.
By using Class D technology, Focal has reduced the need for heat dissipation for its FPX range.
However, in order to achieve high efficiency and to optimise reliability, FPX amplifiers required extensive research: the selection of the best components, a thick aluminium chassis, very precise positioning of the components, monitoring heat dissipation with a thermal camera and accelerated aging tests in draconian conditions.

VERY EASY TO INSTALL AND PERFECT INTEGRATION
Impulse 4.320 – Cables Measuring only 67/8 x 17/8 x 25/8″ (17.65 x 4.6 x 6.7 cm) Impulse 4.320 can easily be concealed within the dashboard or the centre console.
Equipped with high-level (automatic detection feature) and low-level inputs, it is compatible with all head units. Supplied with all fastenings, an adaptor for the head unit’s speaker driver outputs, RCA adaptors for aftermarket head units and power connector, this amp was specially designed to be easy to install. No direct hook up to the vehicle’s battery is required.
An optional ISO connector is available for “Plug&Play” connectivity via the head unit’s harness.

Each pair of channels features an active crossover to adapt the sonic response according to the speaker drivers used. Equipped with high-level (automatic detection feature) and low-level inputs, it is compatible with all head units. Supplied with all fastenings, an adaptor for the head unit’s speaker driver outputs, RCA adaptors for aftermarket head units and power connector, this amp was specially designed to be easy to install. No direct hook up to the vehicle’s battery is required.
An optional ISO connector is available for “Plug&Play" connectivity via the head unit’s harness.

To ensure compatibility with different head units, this amplifier features a 2-channel or 4-channel input selector switch.
Most of all, Impulse 4.320 has been designed to power front and rear speaker drivers. However, it can also be used in a 3-channel or 2-channel mode in order to meet all needs for improving small installations and it can also be used for powering the front speaker drivers and a small subwoofer.
Each pair of channels features an active crossover to adapt the sonic response according to the speaker drivers used. Utilizing our exclusive NexD™ high-speed switching technologies, the JD400/4 amplifier is engineered to deliver loads of clean power, with excellent efficiency and low distortion. This little guy churns out 100 watts of audio from each of its four channels into 2 ohms (14.4V, 1% THD) and is fully bridgeable, so it can be used as a 3-channel amplifier, or as a 2-channel amplifier producing a whopping 200W x 2 into 4 ohms.
The JD400/4’s controls can be found on the input panel of the amplifier, with all speaker and power connections located along the opposite end of the extruded aluminum chassis. Signal processing features include high or low-pass 12 dB / octave filters (defeatable) for each channel pair, with continuously variable frequency selection from 50-500 Hz, and dual-range, differential-balanced inputs capable of accepting line-level or speaker-level signals. Automatic turn-on capability (via signal sensing or DC-offset sensing) is standard equipment.
Onboard LED-clipping indicators are also included surrounding each input sensitivity control. This convenient feature lets you set your amplifier’s input sensitivity, quickly and accurately, without special equipment. You will also find a set of buffered, pass-through preamp outputs on-board, so you can pass signals to another amplifier.
NexD Switching Technology
Let's get a little nerdy... A traditional PWM switching amp design uses a fixed switching frequency and varies the pulse width based solely on the audio input signal to the pulse modulator. This basic approach assumes some ideal conditions, like a rock-steady power supply, that do not necessarily occur in a real, in-car installation. Power supply sag with signal causes distortion at all power levels with these designs, even well below clipping. The cure for this is feedback (a corrective signal sent back to the input side), but this becomes impractical as the audio frequency increases, making it a good solution for band-limited (subwoofer) amps, but not for full-range amplifiers.
Taking the above into account when designing the NexD™ subwoofer amplifiers, we have taken the simple fixed PWM approach and enhanced it with a very high switching frequency: 240 kHz, which is about 4x higher than most Class D subwoofer amplifiers. This pushes the amplifier's bandwidth to at least 500 Hz with minimal distortion and improves efficiency, while keeping typically bulky circuity more compact. Your subwoofers will reward you with tight, rock-solid bass performance.
For the full-range NexD™ amplifiers and channels we applied a variable, ultra-high speed version of the NexD™ technology (switching at well over 400 kHz). In these designs, a self-oscillating modulator with "feed-forward" sends information about the instantaneous power supply voltage to the modulator, combining this with the input signal to cancel out any distortion due to supply voltage fluctuation. This reduces distortion prior to applying feedback, simplifying the overall feedback loop design.
Differential-Balanced Inputs
Today’s vehicles are equipped with sophisticated electronics capable of generating noise and interference that can intrude into the audio path, ruining the listening experience. Most audio equipment uses single-ended, ground-referenced RCA jacks to receive audio signals. This means that the RCA shield is connected directly to the signal ground. This is a simple, cost-effective input design that works well for short runs in noise-free environments. In noisier environments, this method cannot reject the common mode noise that could be on both RCA conductors (shield and center conductor).
By having more than one chassis-grounded RCA shield on a device, single-ended input designs are also more susceptible to ground loops. If noise is present on both conductors while the shield is connected to ground, the input amplifier will amplify the noise relative to the grounded RCA shield. When there are multiple RCA connections or any other conductors subjected to a magnetic field, this will cause a difference in potential across the RCA loop to be amplified at the grounded RCA as noise (a classic ground loop).
JL Audio’s Differential-Balanced Input circuits measure the center pin of the RCA connection relative to the RCA shield, even when the shield is not connected to ground, and even when the voltages at both conductors are moving relative to ground. Because both the center conductor and the shield see high impedance to ground at the input, a ground loop cannot be formed, as there is no current flow to induce a voltage as noise. This works equally well with differential-balanced, or unbalanced signal sources, making this input architecture compatible with all standard car and marine audio equipment, using standard, unshielded, twisted-pair RCA cables. No special cables are required, unlike the fully balanced connections used in professional audio.
Another benefit of the Differential-Balanced Input design is that it easily accepts low-level and high-level signals from a variety of factory head unit outputs and amplifiers, including single-ended “ground referenced” sources, as well as Balanced or Unbalanced “Bridged or BTL” sources. This eliminates the need for Line Output Converters (LOCs) in most installation scenarios. The obvious question is: “Why don’t all car audio amplifiers use Differential-Balanced Inputs?” The answer is simple: it costs more. Executing a proper differential-balanced input section requires more components and better quality components than a basic single-ended design, so you generally won’t find them on less expensive amplifiers.
