JL Audio patented thin-line woofer technology compresses the architecture of the 13TW5v2 using a “concentric tube” structure that supports the 7-inch diameter voice coil and the suspension attachments. This permits placement of the large motor structure much further forward in the speaker than with conventional designs, while allowing excellent linear excursion capability and mechanical stability.
To unleash even more performance from this technology, the v2 improves upon the original 13TW5 with 13% greater linear excursion capability. The cast alloy chassis has also been modified for greater strength and the redesigned motor now features an annular vent. The v2 is also available in single 2 ohm and si4-ohm4 ohm voice coil versions to fit a wide range of applications.
In keeping with its “tight-spaces” mission, the 13TW5v2 is optimized for enclosures that are far smaller than most 12-inch woofers require and only a bit larger than the air space needs of a typical, small-box 10-inch woofer. The mounting system is designed to fit in about the same footprint as a typical 12-inch woofer.

CF drivers benefit from our proprietary FEA modeling and expertise in loudspeaker design. This knowledge is used to create speakers that can play loudly, while maintaining a smooth, dynamic low-distortion sound. At the core of the CF-350mt mid-tweeter is a proprietary 3.5" (90 mm) composite frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. An ultralight, fiber-reinforced pulp cone with a custom "S" roll surround delivers excellent efficiency and extended high-frequency response. A flat, progressive-roll spider ensures linear compliance, while the neodymium motor packs astonishing energy from an ultracompact and lightweight package. An ultralight, fiber-reinforced pulp cone with a custom "S" roll surround delivers excellent efficiency and extended high-frequency response. A flat, progressive-roll spider ensures linear compliance, while the neodymium motor packs astonishing energy from an ultracompact and lightweight package. Each speaker's glass-filled, high-temperature polymer frame is outfitted with insert-molded terminals and a low-profile perforated metal grille to easily fit behind factory trim while providing excellent UV protection in exposed dashboard locations.
For passive applications as midtreble speakers, in-line, second order high-pass filters are included to enhance smoothness and improve power handling. CF-275mt speakers can also be used actively, as true midrange or mid-tweeter drivers to create outstanding two-way or three-way systems. For active applications, we recommend a high-quality digital signal processor (DSP), such as the JL Audio TwK® DSP or a VXi amplifier with built-in DSP, and the recommended bandwidths below.
