The HMS 10 B2-LD-W long throw 10” marine subwoofers are engineered for infinite baffle application. The 2 Ohm configuration makes the most of the amplifier power. It relieves the main speakers from the hard work of reproducing the lowest frequency range, adding bass output and punch to maximize the overall system performance. The FEM optimized high-excursion mobile equipment of HMS 10 B with a 50 mm (2”) voice coil is driven by a massive magnetic group, to obtain a perfect control also at very high level SPL. Engineered and tested for the real environment of application (UV, salt-fog, vibrations, water spray, thermal shock, dust ) HMS 10 B2-LD-W is nature-proof. The progressive design aramid fiber spider with silicone-insulated lead wires ensures durability and constant performance over time. Hertz MLCX 2 TW.3 car audio crossover provides the ability to realize a bi-amplified system, that is, to connect two amplifiers, or anyway two separate channels, to the crossover, so making it possible to drive woofer and tweeter separately. The significant power increase with this configuration highlights all the features of the MLK 1650.3 Legend system, with all the advantages coming from the multi-amplification. Besides, thanks to the Mid-Contour and Hi-Contour controls, dedicated to the management of woofer cut-off frequency and tweeter cut-off frequency respectively, the cross-point can be varied. Through each of these two Contour controls, featuring a two-position selector, the system frequency response can be fine-tuned, adjusting it according to the different acoustics of the cars and the different speaker placements and, most of all, the listener can achieve their favourite sound.
1. Bi-amplification available, selectable through appropriate hi-current rating switch with hi-current carrying capability.2. Mid-Contour two-position control, for a linear mid-bass frequency response according to the woofers position in the car and the listener s favourite sound.3. Hi-Contour two-position control, to select the tweeter hi-pass crossover point selection according to the tweeter position/angle towards the listener.4. Mid-Contour in conjunction with Hi-Contour provides the ability to use MLCX 2 TW.3 to build a two way system based on ML 1650.3 or ML 1800.3 woofer together with ML 280.3 tweeter.5. Three-position switch for tweeter level adjustments in 2 dB steps, to fine-tune thetransducer s emission.6. Hi-Boost control, selectable through appropriate switch, to provide better linearity of the tweeter emission above 10kHz when positioned not on axis to with the listener.7. Extremely high quality bi-metallized 160V polyester film capacitors with ultra-low DF, for maximum sound transparency and neat mid/hi-frequencies.8. Air wound inductors built on pure copper-wire with up to 1mm diameter, for high saturation threshold of the magnetic flux and low losses on the woofer section where high transient currents are demanded.9. High power rating Wirewound resistors, to ensure performance stability even at high operating temperature. The Wirewound build construction grants low parasitic series inductance thus reducing losses at high frequencies, especially for resistors in series to the tweeter.

The installation of after-market woofers in factory placements limited by a reduced depth is a recurring problem that forces specialists to make complicated mechanical changes, extending the time to finish the job significantly. The Cento line new C 165 F flat profile woofer is the solution, thanks to a super slim basket with reduced depth that allows the use even in the most problematic OEM scenarios, widespread in new generation cars. The R&D team, through an extensive design process was able to obtain high performance even with the super slim basket feature. This was made possible by the optimization of the mobile group excursion and the new design of the cone and dust-cup geometry. Like the other components of the Cento range, the use of SPP-M (Semi-Pressed Paper-Mica) provides the C 165 F with a light and rigid cone at the same time that guarantees high efficiency and an extended frequency response.

Hertz CBA 250 active subwoofer box, with the 10-inch driver, features a dedicated high-performance amplification module that enhances all the passive box technologies, such as the 2S²(2 Sides / 2 Sounds) design, the Plug & Play terminal block and ultra-compact size. The SSP (Sub Smart Plug) terminal block is provided with a single Plug & Play connector to be able to disconnect the box easily and safely. The amplification module, with power outputs of 250W RMS, is developed with he-li technology (high efficiency / low impedance), which thanks to the absence of the DC-DC voltage booster reach the impressive 90% efficiency level, very close to the theoretical limit of the D-Class. The Butterworth low pass filter at 12dB/Oct. with variable cut-off frequency (50-200 Hz) can be bypassed, when used with an external processor with pre-out output dedicated to the sub. The adjustable bass-boost control (0 ÷ 6 dB) at 45 Hz allows the user to emphasize the response on the lower side of the spectrum and the Phase control (0 - 180°) completes the equipment. The high-level speaker-in input on the multi-pole connector eases the integration with OEM audio systems while the low-level input on RCA is dedicated to the connection with after-market sources.

The MP 300 D4.3 cone is made by pressing paper pulp with the injection of mineral powders, the same construction technique used for Legend. The V-cone® profile increases rigidity, allowing the cone to function like a piston. Surround materials consist of high-purity IIR-butyl rubber. Like the Legend ML2000.3 and ML2500.3, the Mille PRO subwoofers are built with Boundary Free Surround technology allowing for a greater emission surface with equal diameter, generating higher sound pressure. The compact 6-spoke aluminum alloy anti-resonant basket is the same as the top model ML 2500.3 and contributes to the subwoofer’s mechanical damping, being absolutely transparent to the sound. The 65-mm 4-layer voice coil is higher than 60 mm and wound in a TIL-P former, thus delivering high linear displacement. The 4 Ω + 4 Ω DVC impedance configuration improves versatility to match any amplifier system. The air cooling and decompression system avoids the need for a centre hole on the bottom plate with three advantages:- Better thermal inertia to ensure low operating temperatures during musical transients;- Maximization of the magnetic field induced to the coil with the same overall motor dimensions. Thanks to a greater amount of iron in the pole the likelihood of magnetic saturation decreases exploiting the maximum flux density generated from the magnet;- Possibility to install the subwoofer right on the box wall, taking full advantage of its minimal dimensions. A damping rubber disk, provided with the product, secures the subwoofer to the box and ensures air exchange for the 10 vents on the bottom.The holes behind the voice coil winding and the 10 vents on the bottom plate ensure greater air exchange to the coil inner layers and work in synergy with an innovative assembly system. It forces the air to pass through the air gap to keep the coil operating temperature low, even with the most extreme musical programs. The terminal uses solid push connectors with an antishort circuit cover accepting cables up to 8 AWG to provide ultra-low wiring resistance in low impedance configurations (1ohm).

ML 1800.3 Legend car audio woofers has been thought and designed for the enthusiasts attending contests who need a component merging the timbre accuracy of ML 1650.3 Legend to a wider extension to the low frequencies thanks to the large emission surface, higher power handling and control which only a 50 mm voice coil can ensure. To get to these results, the R&D staff performed extensive in-car voicing sessions, after building several prototypes with the FEA simulation method and testing them with a wide array of measurements carried out with the Klippel® suite. Like in the suspensions of competition cars, the surround must stand the most extreme working conditions to ensure maximum stability and symmetry at high excursions, and so to achieve impact and extension to the low frequency range. For this reason, the electro-acoustic designers developed a new surround-basket gluing system called “Boundary Free Surround”. This technology, provides the ability to achieve wider emission surface of the cone compared to speakers with same diameter; that way, the cone manages to move a bigger mass of air, so it produces more acoustic pressure.

During these past few years the Mille line car audio woofers have been the choice of many enthusiasts looking for extreme performance; with ML 1650.3 Legend the Hertz designers increased again the limits of achievable performance for components designed for door installation. To get to these results, the R&D staff performed extensive in-car voicing sessions, after building several prototypes with the FEA simulation method and testing them with a wide array of measurements carried out with the Klippel® suite. To ensure extraordinary power handling and very high thermal stability even with tracks especially rich of bass frequencies, ML 1650.3 Legend features a 36 mm mobile voice coil. This size ensures the best compromise between power handling and high frequency response. The cone geometry has been subject of in-depth studies with FEA simulations and measurements performed with the Klippel Scan Vibrometer; all that led to the optimization of the V-cone® profile. In the subwoofers and in the woofers, to reproduce the lowest frequency spectrum, the cone needs to move a remarkable amount of air, so it is forced to make long excursions moving like a piston does. The V-cone® profile prevents the cone from deforming during its course, ensuring that the “piston” works in a correct position, maximizing the production of acoustic pressure.

The R & D team, always at the forefront in the search for innovative solutions, with unfailing effort, succeeded in obtaining very powerful bass frequencies from ultra-compact sealed enclosures, optimizing all the electroacoustic parameters according to the target set: high performance with boxes starting from 32 l. for the 30 cm (12 in.) CS 300 model.The 2Ω single voice coil configuration offers maximum compatibility with any type of amplification and an enclosure that houses more than one subwoofer.The reduced depth, the compact magnetic group and the lack of rear decompression hole allow the box to be shaped around the subwoofer obtaining a depth close to the one of a speaker for maximum freedom of installation on any type of car.The special cooling system of the six-layer voice coil keeps the operating temperature within an optimal range even in case of extended listening sessions at high acoustic pressure.An innovative system of dynamic fluid optimization and turbulence reduction, obtained thanks to the spider support acting as an air conduct towards the venting holes on the basket, drastically reduces the acoustic distortions generated by the air compression at high excursions.The cone geometry, the suspension and the spider have been designed using FEM (Finite Element Method) simulations to obtain the best performance configuration that guarantees control and low distortions even at high mechanical excursions of the mobile group.The terminal block uses solid push connectors that accept cables up to 8 AWG to offer low wiring resistance and maximum ease of connection even in installations with multiple subwoofers.The subwoofer is also provided with an elegant high resistance ABS plastic gasket that allows the grille to be fixed to finish the installation.The optional CG 300 grille in robust black metal mesh provide total protection for the subwoofer and an appealing look thanks to the Hertz diamond aluminium logo for better integration into the car.With the Cento subwoofers even the younger enthusiasts will enjoy an exciting reproduction of low frequencies in the car!
