To facilitate fit, breakaway mounting tabs on the woofer frame allow the C1-400x to be installed in four-hole or two-hole mounting configurations. C1 woofer drivers benefit from proprietary FEA modelling and JL Audio’s expertise in low-frequency driver design. This knowledge is used to create speakers that can play loudly while maintaining a smooth, dynamic, low distortion sound.
At the core of the C1-400x is a proprietary, stamped, steel 4-inch (100 mm) frame and a DMA-optimized motor system. A mineral-filled, injection-moulded polypropylene cone is suspended with a rubber surround on the front, and a carefully engineered spider at the top of the voice coil, to precisely control motion and prevent impact between the voice coil and the backplate.
Tinsel leads are carefully routed and attached to the spider to prevent fatigue and buzzing. These are the same kinds of features and materials normally found on much more expensive loudspeakers. Equipped with a true, edge-driven, aluminium dome tweeter, C1 speakers stand further apart from others in its category with superior high-frequency clarity and definition.
The tweeter’s design has an inherently excellent off-axis response and high-frequency extension. It also benefits from the damping of a silk surround suspension and Ferrofluid in the voice coil gap, along with the superior strength of a neodymium magnet circuit. A true, 2nd order high-pass filter is employed to further enhance smoothness and improve power handling.

To improve the car audio tweeters which was considered a reference since its first introduction into the market is a quite challenging task which could only be performed by a continued evolution in time and maximum care for each detail that might affect sound.From these presuppositions the Hertz ML 280.3 Legend car audio speakers has been born. Through the FEA simulations, the electro-acoustic designers carried out an extensive research which led to the optimization of the Tetolon dome geometry, to minimize distortion.This optimization method led to a reviewed face plate geometry for improved frequency response and lower distortion.Another element of the tweeter especially important for sound is the rear acoustic chamber: the designers performed an exhaustive research on the geometry as well as on the employed damping material, achieving 50% increase in overall volume, to extend response to lower frequencies with 900Hz resonance frequency.

The pipe has a kick welded into the turbo end to offset the pipe away from the exhaust manifold. The kit includes all items needed to plumb from our Fatz built Airbox to a 3″ inlet housing on a low mount manifold. The pipe includes a fitting welded in for plumbing in of the PCV hose, as well as a cap, should you prefer not to. All hose, fittings and clamps required to fit out. Our Plumbing kit for the ZD30 utilizes a CNC bent calibrated sized tube allowing for direct installation of the MAF sensor and PCV hose as required. This allows for free-flowing intake air from our Fatz built Airbox to the turbo inlet while ensuring Air flow data is accurate. The PCV hose is plumbed back into the intake with high quality Aeroflow fittings and hose required. Also included in the kit is a Laser cut, folded bracket for re-location of the boost control solenoid as required.
NOTE: Series 4 ZD30 Di has the CRD MAF Sensor and needs a CRD Kit. If the sensor in your vehicle has a rectangle slot, you NEED a CRD plumbing kit.
