To improve the car audio tweeters which was considered a reference since its first introduction into the market is a quite challenging task which could only be performed by a continued evolution in time and maximum care for each detail that might affect sound.From these presuppositions the Hertz ML 280.3 Legend car audio speakers has been born. Through the FEA simulations, the electro-acoustic designers carried out an extensive research which led to the optimization of the Tetolon dome geometry, to minimize distortion.This optimization method led to a reviewed face plate geometry for improved frequency response and lower distortion.Another element of the tweeter especially important for sound is the rear acoustic chamber: the designers performed an exhaustive research on the geometry as well as on the employed damping material, achieving 50% increase in overall volume, to extend response to lower frequencies with 900Hz resonance frequency.

THE FLAX CONE, EXPRESSIVE AND NATURAL
This flax cone has been exclusively made in France by Focal since 2013. With its original design, it is 100% geared towards acoustic performance. This sandwich cone is formed of a flax fibre core placed between two thin sheets of glass fibre. Flax is a fibre with the unique ability to reproduce a very natural sound without colouration, with a rich reproduction in the midrange and clear bass strokes. Its lightness offers great dynamics, while its rigidity sustains the bass and provides good damping to deliver a faithful listening experience. Flax fibre is twice as light as glass fibre as it is hollow. Its very low elasticity makes it ideal for increasing the flexural rigidity module of a sandwich structure.

Easy-Fit Tweeter in OEM Locations
You can simply remove the installation frame and the trim ring of the R-Series tweeter to minimise its overall size and diameter. The tweeter itself is then small enough to fit it in many OEM tweeter locations (inside A-pillars, mirror triangles or door panels) for a stealthy installation.
Flexible PRO X-Over Network
This large-size crossover network includes many high-quality components selected for best sound quality. You can adjust the mid-range speaker level by -3dB / 0dB / +3dB and the tweeter level as well by -3dB / 0dB / +3dB.
HAMR Surround
Alpine’s HAMR Surround (High-Amplitude Multi-Roll) allows for a maximum cone excursion, while maintaining excellent control. This results in strong bass at high volumes without distortion.
